Top Healthcare Companies in Robotics and their application domain

ROBOTICS is a continuously evolving field and day-by-day we are seeing new innovations in this field. Robotics has proven to be particularly useful in the healthcare sector where it can  be used to perform a wide variety of tasks like complex surgeries, care for elderly, disinfecting robots, etc.
Here I would like to list a few companies which have made quite an advancement in robotics application for healthcare.

1. INTUITIVE SURGICAL:
It is one of the top companies which builds surgical robots. In fact the most commonly used Surgical robot the da Vinci Surgical System was introduced by Intuitive Surgical and since than has been used for more than 3 million minimally invasive procedures in various surgical specalities. The product features a magnified 3D high definition vision system and tiny wristed instrument which bend and rotate far greater than human hand. The surgeon is always in control of the robot which helps him to perform complex surgical tasks which was not possible earlier. By 2020 surgical robots sales are expected to double to $6.4 billion.

2. TRANSENTERIX:
This company was founded in the year 2006 and represents the biggest competitor for Intuitive Surgical in the field of urology, gynecology or colorectal surgery. It is pioneering the use of robotics to improve minimally invasive surgery.

3. Verb Surgical:
It was founded in the year 2015 by the partnership between the subsidiaries of Google's Alphabet and Johnson and Johnson. The company focusses on building a surgical solutions platform.Verb Surgical utilizes the medical instrumentation technology developed by Ethicon, while the big data and machine learning expertise comes from google to develop a digital surgical platform which will include robotics as well.

what is robotics and why robotics needed?

How can a hospital or healthcare facility improve sterility and potentially reduce hospital-acquired infections? this type of question can have a common answer: utilise robotics technology. what is robotics?   Robotics is a branch of engineering that involves the conception, design, manufacture, and operation of robots. While still a developing technology, Robotics in healthcare applications offer a way to control costs while potentially providing better care. Here are some of the most promising robotics in healthcare applications: why robotis needed?   as we know day by day technology increases so that robotics is also one of the most technology needed in this current time.  day by  day new new technology coming , robots are taking place of human , by that work will  be faster . robot can do work faster than human . as robot is programmed by human but  robot do tasks faster than human and do more task at a time. 1.speed ...

Application of Robotics in different domains:

ROBOTICS has a wide application in the healthcare sector ,thanks to their precision ,ability to do the monotonous work like washing the hospital floors ,supplying medicines between different floors of the hospital. Thus the healthcare robots can be used to perform the monotonous tasks and thus giving time to nurses to look after the patients and their well-being.               Here are few more applications of robotics  in the Healthcare domain: ROBOTS FOR DISINFECTING HOSPITAL ROOMS :    Hospital acquired infections are one of the leading cause of death in US and it is been reported that 1 in 25 people will contract HAI .Thus to solve this problem, Xenex a Texas based company produced a robot which uses Ultraviolet rays(UV) to disinfect hospital floors quickly and efficiently. In this way robotics can be used to decrease the human workload and for disinfecting the room.                ...

HISTORY OF ROBOTS

The word robot (from the Czech word robota meaning compulsory labor) was defined by the Robotic Institute of America as “a machine in the form of a human being that performs the mechanical functions of a human being but lacks sensitivity.” One of the first robots developed was by Leonardo da Vinci in 1495; a mechanical armored knight that was used to amuse royalty. This was then followed by creation of the first operational robot by Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1801, in which an automated loom, controlled by punch cards, created a reproducible pattern woven into cloth. Issac Asimov further elucidated the role of robotics in 1940 through short stories; however, it was his three laws of robotics that received popular acclaim. The three laws state1) A robot may not injure a human being, or through inaction allow a human being to come to harm2)A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with First Law and 3) A robot must protect its own ...
